The job application process has changed significantly in recent years, between the use of technology in applicant screening to various employment laws restricting what information employers can consider. Candidates should be aware of their rights and be prepared to handle challenging scenarios that can arise during the hiring process. In this session, employment law attorney Cherie Silberman will address what questions an employer should not ask and help candidates craft appropriate responses to those questions if they arise. She will also provide practical tips and address the legal implications of background checks, social media, and the need for special accommodations. This session will include advice to help candidates address COVID and childcare-related inquiries without fear of negatively impacting their application.
