Non-verbal communication plays a key role in your success in life – during your job search and in everyday encounters. So, whether you’re networking, interviewing, attending a social gathering, or just standing in line, non-verbal communication can speak volumes! Learn how to communicate your interest in others – from the moment you meet them to the end of your conversation.

What is Kick-Off Monday: Kick-Off Monday is a motivational, educational, and networking program designed to help you prepare for the week ahead, sharing conversation, contacts, and job-search information in a relaxed, friendly environment. It is a “place to go” to focus on your job search or career transition and network with others. Sessions are free and LIVE in-person at the TampaBay-Job-Links office of Gulf Coast JFCS. Registration is required.

Goals:

• Kick-start your week with renewed energy and focus
• Learn job-search and career transition skills and strategies from experts
• Practice your 30-second commercial in a relaxed, safe environment
• Exchange ideas, information, and experiences with others
• Ask job-search questions
• Create an action plan for the week

 Agenda:

• 30-Second commercials
• The topic of the week
• Candidate successes and challenges
• Individual action plans for the week

Materials Needed: No materials are needed.

Program Length:  1½ hours   1:00 PM – 2:30 PM.  Participants should plan to arrive 15 minutes early. The program will begin and end on time.

Who Should Attend: Unemployed and underemployed individuals who want to prepare and focus their job-search plan for the week in a welcoming environment.
