Now more than ever, it’s important to stay relevant in today’s shifting job market. Why? To demonstrate that you – and your job-search skills – are up to date. What does relevant mean? It means being current with the times and understanding today’s job market as it continues to shift and evolve. It also means being knowledgeable about the latest trends in your industry, keeping your business knowledge and technology skills on the cutting edge, and anticipating as well as adapting as workplaces continue to change. Join us to learn tools and techniques to stay relevant and on top of your game, both today and throughout your career.

What is Kick-Off Monday: Kick-Off Monday is a motivational, educational, and networking program designed to help you prepare for the week ahead, sharing conversation, contacts, and job-search information in a relaxed, friendly environment. It is a “place to go” to focus on your job search or career transition and network with others. Sessions are free and LIVE in-person at the TampaBay-Job-Links office of Gulf Coast JFCS. Registration is required.

Goals:

  • Kick-start your week with renewed energy and focus
  • Learn job-search and career transition skills and strategies from experts
  • Practice your 30-second commercial in a relaxed, safe environment
  • Exchange ideas, information, and experiences with others
  • Ask job-search questions
  • Create an action plan for the week

 Agenda:

  • 30-Second commercials
  • The topic of the week
  • Candidate successes and challenges
  • Individual action plans for the week

Materials Needed: No materials are needed.

Program Length:  1½ hours   1:00 PM – 2:30 PM.  Participants should plan to arrive 15 minutes early. The program will begin and end on time.

Who Should Attend: Unemployed and underemployed individuals who want to prepare and focus their job-search plan for the week in a welcoming environment.

Cost to Attend: Free
