Say Shalom to Shabbat and Welcome the New Week

Join Congregation B'nai Israel of St. Petersburg for a community wide Havdala service with Rabbi Luski enhanced by Cantor Schultz and his guitar melodies on Saturday, January 7 at 6:30 pm in South Straub Park located at 198 Bayshore Drive NE in St. Petersburg.

Havdala - a Jewish religious ritual involving lighting a special Havdala candle with several wicks, blessing a cup of wine, and smelling sweet spices – celebrates when the Sabbath ends on Saturday night after the appearance of three stars in the sky. Havdala involves all five senses - to taste the wine, smell the spices, see the flame of the candle and feel its heat, and hear the blessings.

This event is free, family friendly, and open to the community. Bring your flashlight and chairs or your picnic blanket and relax as we say goodbye to Shabbat together.
