In today’s electronic world, more than 90% of recruiters use LinkedIn to find qualified candidates. Today having an online presence – especially on LinkedIn – is critical for job seekers. Why? Because more than 90% of recruiters use LinkedIn to find qualified candidates. In this session, you will review the key components of a LinkedIn profile (from a professional photo, heading, and contact information, to skills, accomplishments, and endorsements). In addition, you will learn how a well-constructed profile 1) presents you as a qualified candidate for the type of position you desire and 2) helps you connect with people who seek you out and/or those who support your job search. Be sure to bring your questions, too!

WHAT IS LINKS:  LINKS is an acronym for Leads, Information, Networking, Know-how, and Strategies. It is an educational and motivational program designed to help candidates prepare for the week ahead and to share conversation, contacts, and job-search information in a relaxed, friendly environment. For the unemployed professional, LINKS is a “place to go” to focus on the job search when others go to work on Monday Mornings. LINKS sessions are free and open to the public. Reservations are required.

No materials are needed.

Program Length:
1½ hours.  Plan to arrive 15 minutes early.

Who Should Attend:
Unemployed and underemployed individuals looking to work in a professional environment and seeking relevant and practical information or advice regarding the next steps in their job search or career path. This includes individuals in mid-career transition, women re-entering the workforce after a hiatus, military veterans transitioning to the civilian workforce, recent college graduates launching their careers, and mature workers not ready or able to retire.
