Are you looking to gain more control over your job search? Do you want better results for your efforts? Having effective strategies and practices in place is critical, whether you are unemployed, underemployed, or considering a career move. For example, are you aware of the current trends in your job market? Are you being selective in the jobs you apply for? Does your digital presence contain the best keywords for the work you’re seeking? Mastering the most effective ways to search and apply for jobs can help you identify the right opportunities and help you gain more control over the process. Learn how to evaluate and put into place an array of job search strategies and practices that will support you in reaching your career goals!

What is Kick-Off Monday: Kick-Off Monday is a motivational, educational, and networking program designed to help you prepare for the week ahead, sharing conversation, contacts, and job-search information in a relaxed, friendly environment. It is a “place to go” to focus on your job search or career transition and network with others. Sessions are free and LIVE in-person at the TampaBay-Job-Links office of Gulf Coast JFCS. Registration is required.

Goals:

  • Kick-start your week with renewed energy and focus
  • Learn job-search and career transition skills and strategies from experts
  • Practice your 30-second commercial in a relaxed, safe environment
  • Exchange ideas, information, and experiences with others
  • Ask job-search questions
  • Create an action plan for the week

 Agenda:

  • 30-Second commercials
  • The topic of the week
  • Candidate successes and challenges
  • Individual action plans for the week

Materials Needed: No materials are needed.

Program Length:  1½ hours   1:00 PM – 2:30 PM.  Participants should plan to arrive 15 minutes early. The program will begin and end on time.

Who Should Attend: Unemployed and underemployed individuals who want to prepare and focus their job-search plan for the week in a welcoming environment.
