Self-care is a necessary part of living your best life, especially when you’re in career transition. This session provides the time, reflection, and skills for you to walk out with new habits/rituals that will increase your overall well-being. Gain an understanding of why self-compassion and self-awareness are a big part of your wellness picture, and learn strategies and tools that will help you create a personalized Self-Care plan. Discover why and how it’s essential to take care of YOU in order to be most efficient and productive during your job search, while living joyously at home and connecting with those you care about.

WHAT IS LINKS: LINKS is an acronym for Leads, Information, Networking, Know-how, and Strategies. It is an educational and motivational program designed to help candidates prepare for the week ahead and to share conversation, contacts, and job-search information in a relaxed, welcoming environment. For the unemployed professional, LINKS is a “place to go” to focus on the job search when others go to work on Monday Mornings. LINKS sessions are free and open to the public. Reservations are required.

Goals:

  • Kick-start the week with renewed energy and focus
  • Learn career transition tips from career strategists and industry experts
  • Practice a 30-second commercial in a relaxed, safe environment
  • Exchange ideas, information, and experiences with participants
  • Create an action plan for the week

What We Will Cover:

  • 30-Second commercials
  • The topic of the week
  • Candidate successes and challenges
  • Individual action plans for the week

Materials Needed:
No materials are needed.

Program Length: 1½ hours. Participants should plan to arrive 15 minutes early.

Who Should Attend:
Unemployed and underemployed individuals looking to work in a professional environment and seeking relevant and practical information or advice regarding the next steps in their job search or career path. This includes individuals in mid-career transition, women re-entering the workforce after a hiatus, military veterans transitioning to the civilian workforce, recent college graduates launching their careers, and mature workers not ready or able to retire.

Cost to Attend:
Free for TBJL Full Program Participants and guests.

Dress:
Business casual.
Out of consideration for other participants, we ask that all candidates refrain from wearing fragrances, perfume, and cologne.
